Gibt es bekannte Probleme oder Einschränkungen bei der Verwendung der MLF-Add-Ons mit den neuesten Versionen 2.4.24 und darüber hinaus? Ich möchte sicherstellen, dass ich keine Funktionen verliere oder Konflikte bekomme.

Zur Liste der letzten Postings zum Einsatz außerhalb des Forums (Latest Postings): Das Skript wurde für den Einsatz mit MLF 2.4.x erstellt. Es fehlt die Unterstützung des vollen UTF8-Raums inklusive Emojis bei der Kommunikation mit der Datenbank. Das ist aber recht leicht zu beheben.

Zum hier (aktuell ungenügend) gepflegten Theme (Responsive 1): Die letzten Änderungen wurden im Jahr 2023 eingepflegt. Die Versionen 0.1.x von "Responsive 1" sind kompatibel zu den letzten MLF Versionen des 2.4-er Zweigs, die Versionen 0.2.x sind grundsätzlich kompatibel mit dem Versionen des 2.5-er Zweigs von MLF. Da ich aufgrund der Arbeit an MLF selbst und speziell am Default-Theme aber seit 2023 keine neuen Versionen von "Responsive 1" erstellt habe, fehlen im Theme jene Änderungen, die in neueren MLF-Versionen (neun Stück) vorhanden und für das Theme relevant sind. Beim kurzen überfliegen des Changelogs habe ich acht Änderungen ausgemacht, die im Theme "Responsive 1" mit Stand heute (2025-12-05) fehlen. Es mag weitere geben, die ich auf die Schnelle übersehen habe.

Einsatz mit MLF 2.5.x (Stand 2025-12-05), bis Version 20220803.1 (2.5.4): ja, mit neueren Versionen: nein

Dennoch ein mittelmäßig relevantes "Aber". Beim umstrukturieren der HTML- und CSS-Quelltexte habe ich einige Klassen und IDs weggeworfen, die sich später als relevant für das Zusammenspiel mit JavaScript herausstellten. Ich habe da zwar vieles gefixt, möchte aber keine Gewähr dafür übernehmen, alles erwischt zu haben. Es könnte also sein, dass einzelne Funktionen, die mit JavasScript umgesetzt sind, nicht so funktionieren, wie wie man es vom Default-Theme kennt. Da aber alle Funktionen entweder auch ohne JavaScript funktionieren, dann aber ein erneutes laden der jeweiligen Seite erfordern, oder erst gar nicht bereitgestellt werden, dürfte das keine oder nur sehr wenige Auswirkungen auf die Funktionalität eines Forums haben.

I released a new version of the theme Responsive 1 which is compatible with the My Little Forum versions 20220529.1 and 20220803.1. Passwords will not be exposed to external services for spell checking anymore. I also fixed a few usability bugs. The styling of radio buttons and checkboxes, that hides the elements itself and replaces them with graphics or styling of their lables, was done with display: none; in some cases. All form elements that got hidden with display: none; was not accessible for keyboard users. Additionally the order of elements, steered with the attribute tabindex, was confusing in a few forms. Removing the attribute occurences with exception of the cases, where an element shouldn't be accessible by keyboard, restores the natural order of occurence in the source code/DOM.

Regarding the browser compatibility, the list in the message about version 0.1.1 is no longer valid. Please see the new list in the release entry for version 0.2.1 instead.

I released a new version of the theme Responsive 1 with a few enhancements of the user list in the admin area, the item tools in the entry views and – a more general task – for checkboxes in forms. Checkboxes get not properly zoomed in some browsers so they get displayed very small even with a properly zoomed font size. That leads to a bad usability because of very small target sizes of the checkboxes, even with the text as labels as addtional clickable areas.

This release is compatible with My Little Forum versions 2.4.20 and 2.4.21.

I proudly present the third beta version (1.8.beta3) of My Little Forum 1.8. The main change is the support of UTF-8 in the database, the scripts and the output (HTML, RSS-feed, e-mails). A further great change is the "theming engine". All relevant files and codes (templates, images, CSS, JavaScript) moves to a new directory structure ('themes/mlf1-classic', the work is far from complete) what makes the old files obsolete (template.html, style.css and javascript.js in the main directory, all images in img (but not in the subdirectories).

Please install the beta version after performing a backup of your old database content and forum script or parallel to an existing old version with an import of the data from the old installation.

Ja, das ist ein bisschen Tricky.

1. Wenn der Browser den Feldtyp <input type="date"> kennt, wird das Datum entsprechend der im Rechner des Benutzers festgelegten Spracheinstellungen ausgegeben, ganz so, wie es im Screenshot für die deutsche Sprache zu sehen ist.
2. Benutzt jemand einen Browser, der den Feldtyp <input type="date"> nicht kennt, wird ihm ein normales Textfeld (<input type="text">) angezeigt und er braucht eine Hilfestellung zum ausfüllen.
3. Vom Browser wird die Eingabe eines Datums in einem Datumsfeld (<input type="date">), egal, wie es eingegeben wurde und angezeigt wird, immer als JJJJ-MM-TT an den Server geschickt und dort auch in diesem Format erwartet. Das bedeutet, dass die Eingabe in ein Textfeld (<input type="text">) diesem Schema entsprechen muss, damit nicht auf Seiten des Servers eine irgendwie geartete Eingabe herausgefischt und korrigiert werden muss.

Für Benutzer, die JavaScript zulassen (was wohl die meisten vor einem Browser sein dürften), sollte das abfangbar sein. Es besteht ja nur die Notwendigkeit, die Hilfe anzuzeigen, wenn <input type="date"> nicht unterstützt wird. An den JS-Teil habe ich mich allerdings noch nicht herangewagt. Das ist eine Riesenbaustelle, an die ich mich nur mit Michas Hilfe machen kann.
